pylabrobot.opentrons.flex.flex_head.FlexHead8.dispense#

async FlexHead8.dispense(target: Plate | Well | Sequence[Well] | Container, volume: float, *, column: int | None = None, use_channels: Sequence[int] | None = None, flow_rate: float | None = None, offset: Coordinate | None = None, liquid_height: float | None = None, post_mix: Mix | None = None) → None#

Dispense volume uL into target using PLR coordinates and in-place dispensing.

The dispense mirror of aspirate(): the target type selects the addressing (a plate.column(c) sequence, a single Well, or a Container cavity) and use_channels names the active nozzles. No configureNozzleLayout is emitted (the layout is fixed at pickup). See aspirate() for the full contract; column is the same transitional bridge for the old dispense(plate, column=c) call.

post_mix=Mix(volume, repetitions, flow_rate) mixes at the dispense position before retracting, with volume in uL per tip. The initial and intermediate dispenses use zero push-out so mixing needs no lift or priming. Only the last stroke uses the default push-out. Mixing uses post_mix.flow_rate for both strokes. Surface-following settings are ignored, as mixing stays at the dispense height. Each completed stroke is tracked separately; a failure stops without further movement.
